In my quest to afford to be a stay at home mom, any little bit helps.

I’m especially partial to gaining a little bit of cash without doing any additional spending or work. Who isn’t?

Use cash back apps to benefit from shopping you’d do anyway.  Nothing more.

Below are some apps that I use to do just that.

Ibotta

I wrote a post on what ibotta is and how it works.

As of today, I have $255.68 of lifetime earnings on ibotta. I opened my account July 2019.

Full disclosure: as mentioned in my post, it used to be easier to earn cash back on ibotta. There was a time (pre-pandemic) that most Amazon purchases earned cash back. Now, only Amazon devices are eligible for cash back on ibotta.

I think it is worth noting that I don’t do much shopping but during the months of November and December I earned $16.94, mostly thanks to Christmas and groceries. I think most people shop more than I do, so that means more earnings for them with the ibotta cash back app.

Fetch

This is a cash-back app where you get points for scanning almost any receipt.

You get 25 points for a standard grocery receipt or any other kind of shopping receipt. If you have promoted brands listed on your receipt, you can get significantly more (thousands).

You redeem your points in gift cards of your choice (i.e. Amazon, Target, Dunkin Donuts) or sweepstakes or charities.

The good: you don’t have to do anything but scan your receipt.  No scanning barcodes or selecting products off a list.  Just good ole, simple picture-taking. The app automatically reads the items and credits you.

If you buy any of the promoted brands you can easily score thousands of points in one shopping trip.

For example, I just got 10,249 points because I bought two small bags of Huggies Overnites.

The meh: 1,000 points equal $1 so it can potentially take some time to make a decent amount of money.

Since it’s so easy to use, I will accept any little bit of money they want to throw my way.

Pampers

So this one is truly for the mommies.

If you buy pamper products for your little one, download the Pampers app.

Every pack of diapers or wipes contains a code inside. You can take a picture of the diaper code. All wipes’ codes need to be entered manually.

Points earned vary. There are sometimes (but not often) different promotions where you can earn more points if you scan during these events.

With the points you collect, you can redeem gift cards (i.e. Amazon, Carter’s/Oshkosh B’gosh), shop for items with your points or donate to charities.

Pro tip: hold onto your diaper codes for special offers.  For example, sometimes they offer $3 cash back if you scan 3 diaper codes. You’re only eligible once per promotion (so scan only 3 codes and then hibernate your pro-pamper-app-user-self until next time).

The cash back offers don’t come around as often as I’d like but I’ve earned more than $30 cash back so far.

TopCashback

This is a new addition that I recently learned about via The Krazy Coupon Lady.

This one is also different from the others because you don’t need to download an app to use it. Just go to their website (yay!).

I heard about this earlier this month when The Krazy Coupon Lady announced that making a purchase through them at Bed Bath & Beyond will get you $10.

I happened to need something from there so I got $10 that I otherwise wouldn’t have gotten.

After learning about it, I remembered to go through TopCashback to use store credit I had for Forever21.

In less than a month I have earned $13.03 cash back.

They run different promotions for different merchants and notify you via email. TopCashback is very easy to use. You go to their website, look up the store you are going to shop at and you’ll see how much cash back they are offering for that store. Click the link to the store in their website and then shop as usual. That’s it!
